See you next year?

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

The overnight was awesome!

Broomball, tubing, communion, games, Tobie’s donuts, and Battlefield XL…  It was an event to remember.

Next year we’re expanding to two nights/three days (January 7-9, 2011).

Mark your calendars – you won’t want to miss it!

January Overnight!

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

Broomballs & Bibles anyone?

teen-sc09-bb-12Our overnight @ Covenant Pines Bible Camp is coming up fast (January 15-16)!

Think of it as a road trip with a purpose…  Our goal is to have a blast and come back better connected to God and each other.

CPBC is a place of awesome fun-ness…  They have 5 broomball rinks, a tubing hill, a cool coffee shop, lots of natural beauty, good food, a big gym, and more.

It’s a great place for us to hang out around a fireplace, play some crazy games (like 4-way pin-guard), sing a few songs, and reflect on some important (and relevant) insights from God’s Word.

The overnight is open to anyone in 6-12th Grade.  To register, just grab one of the blue Registration Forms on Tuesday Night or Sunday Morning.

The cost is just $45.

Here are some more pics from last year’s trip…

“Shadowland” – October 27

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

You won’t want to miss the world premiere of “Shadowland” the Tuesday before Halloween!ctc-3

Most of us grew up playing some version of “Kick the Can” or “Ghosts in the Graveyard” as kids.

On October 27, we’ll have a blast sneaking around Gospel Hills Camp after dark…  Doing our best to tag or not be tagged in ECC Teen’s new version of the classic neighborhood night game.

There’s no cost and there are no forms to fill out – just show up Tuesday, October 27 @ 7:00 pm wearing black and ready to have a blast!

Consider also joining us the week before (October 20) to discus the topic “Should We Worry About Demons?” and the week after (November 3) as we talk about “How Not To Look Like A Complete Idiot In The Creation/Evolution Debate”.

We’ve Launched!

ECC Teen @ GHC Tuesday Nights!

Hey everyone – it’s official…

ECC Teen will meet @ GOSPEL HILLS CAMP on Tuesday nights!img_0047

When ECC Teen fires back up on September 15, we’ll have the entire camp to ourselves on TUESDAY nights.  We’ll from 7:00 – 8:30 pm.

Gospel Hills camp is amazing!  It’s located right on Snail Lake in Shoreview (580 Hwy 96 West) between the Shoreview Community Center and Rainbow but on the opposite side of the road.

And it’s quite the place…

The camp itself was founded about 75 years ago on property seized from gangster Ma Barker.  They have a gym, cool lounges with fireplaces, a game room, a chapel, a beach, a fire ring, and a park-like lot.  They even have two floors of dorms if we ever want to do an overnight.

img_0052I can’t wait to invent some new outside games, worship by candlelight in the chapel, chill around a campfire or fireplace, show off my crazy-mad foosball skills in the game room, dig into the Word, and play some good old-fashioned pinguard classic (we’ll save four-way pinguard for our road trip to Covenant Pines).img_0050

Most of us are used to doing Youth Group on Wednesdays, but the camp was already booked Wednesday nights.  After talking to many of you, it became clear that Tuesday has it’s advantages.  Wednesdays aren’t as “protected” as they once were from homework and activities, and moving to Tuesday Nights allows you to invite friends that otherwise couldn’t come do to conflicts with their churches.

There’s no cost and you don’t have to sign up in advance.  Simply drop by Tuesday nights from 7:00-8:30 beginning September 15.

Hope to see you there!

Spring into Summer

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

Hey everyone,3482730989_e1d4b3c9161

The campfire was great wasn’t it?  We’ll definitely be doing that again!

It’s sad to say goodbye to weekly get-togethers…  But spring has already sprung into summer for ECC Teen.

Where did the time go?

It’s time to reload for a fantastic fall…  This will be the first time ECC Teen will enter the fall with a weekly program (and we’re pretty pumped about it)!  We’d love to get your input.  Check our calendar for “Relaunch” meetings and other ways to connect and contribute over the summer.

See you Sundays!

Happy Holy Week!

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

Hi everyone, img_0030

Just a quick reminder that ECC Teen will not be meeting on Wednesday, April 8.

But that doesn’t mean you should take the week off!

We encourage you to spend the next several days preparing for Easter.

TUESDAY

Read and reflect on Luke 20:1 – Luke 21:36.

WEDNESDAY

Read and reflect on Luke 22:1-6.

THURSDAY

Read and reflect on Luke 22:7-65.

FRIDAY & SATURDAY

Read and reflect on Jesus’ trial and death (Luke 22:66 – Luke 23:56).  In honor of Jesus’ sacrifice for you, wear black and observe a “media fast” – no TV, movies, music or internet until Easter Sunday.

SUNDAY

Celebrate that Jesus has risen!  Wear white or bright colored clothes and join us at ECC for our Easter Service.  Download “Happy Day” by Steve Fee and listen to it a zillion times.

ECC Teen will be back on Wednesday, April 15.  We’ll be having a campfire and playing a new outside game we just invented.  Dress warm, wear stuff that can get smokey & dirty, and bring a ground blanket to sit on.
