Baptism & Confirmation

Most Christian churches offer some sort of public affirmation of faith.

Two of the most widely embraced are BAPTISM and CONFIRMATION.

At ECC, we recognize both – and we recognize neither were meant to be empty rituals!

BAPTISM

The Bible has a lot to say about baptism into the Name of Jesus… In God’s Word, this baptism is linked not only with salvation (1 Peter 3:18-21), but new birth (John 3:3-6), forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38; Titus 3:5), being “in Christ” (Romans 6:3-6; Galatians 3:27), the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38), and becoming part of the Church (1 Corinthians 12:12-13).

Whew!  That’s quite a list…  And that’s just for starters!

If you’ve never been baptized we’d love to answer any questions that stand between you and receiving these amazing promises of God through faith, water, and God’s Word.

CONFIRMATION

If you were baptized as a tot, CONFIRMATION is a way to confirm the vows that were made on your behalf.

Confirmation at ECC isn’t a program – it’s a statement!  It’s a proclamation of personal faith evidenced by a God-seeking and God-honoring life.

The expectations for those who wish to publicly confirm their faith as a teen are the same for those who seek to become a member of ECC as an adult.  We expect confirmands to be ALL IN!

We currently handle confirmations like baptisms – on an individual basis.
